BIA Legislative Advocacy The building industry employs thousands of people like yourself. On your behalf, the BIA provides effective legislative lobbying at the local, state and national levels. Over the years, the BIA has saved thousands of jobs and millions of dollars through the defeat of ballot initiatives, legislation and regulations detrimental to the building industry. BIA Membership Network Your membership in the BIA also includes membership in the National Association of Home Builders and the California Building Industry Association. National Association of Home Builders A 200,000 member association headquartered in Washington, D.C., National Association of Home Builders is organized in a federation of approximately 800 state and local builders associations around the country. As a member, you have access to a broad range of services including legal research and assistance; technical and business assistance; educational programs; publications and conferences. California Building Industry Association The statewide voice of the 13 local building industry associations in California, California Building Industry Association is located in Sacramento where its staff maintains contact with state officials and the legislature. The state association also produces several influential publications and conducts a wide variety of educational programs for its members and the public. BIA Special Interest Councils and Committees As a member based trade association, the BIA relies heavily on its membership for volunteer support. Member participation in the Association's diverse committees and councils benefits the BIA, the individual and the community. BIA Monday Morning Briefing A weekly email update on issues affecting the industry in every jurisdiction. Also included in the Members Only section on the Government Affairs page of this site. BIA Buzz E-Newsletter. Electronic newsletter update of BIA activities and events. Membership Directory Annual listing of companies and individuals involved in the BIA including a classified advertising section. Complimentary member lists are available to members. Business Exchange Book The BIA Business Exchange Breakfasts attract more than 500 members. The breakfasts promote doing business with members. The Breakfast provides a forum for builders to announce their upcoming projects to subcontractors and associate members. The Business Exchange Breakfast Book, distributed at this event, lists the building projects, as well as supplies and services offered by subcontractor and associate members. California Builder The official statewide publication of the California Building Industry Association (CBIA). Building News The Nation's leading "Building News" e-publication is published by the Association of Home Builders. North State Builder The BIA's bimonthly publication featuring member news. Traffic Report A report on new home sales and subdivision traffic figures on a weekly basis for 100 new home communities in the Sacramento area. Available only to participating builder members for a subscription fee of $250 per year. National Association of Home Builders Bookstore and National Association of Home Builders Library offers the largest collection of industry-related publications and the most complete source of housing industry information. Business Exchange Breakfast Held three times a year, the Business Exchange Breakfast provides a forum for builders to announce their upcoming projects to subcontractors and associate members. The Business Exchange Breakfast Book, distributed at this event, lists the building projects as well as supplies and services offered by subcontractor and associate members. Golf Tournaments The BIA puts on two golf tournaments a year. These tournaments are for members only. See the calendar of events for specific dates. BIA Home Tour Every October, this annual public tour showcases the region's newest custom and reproduction homes throughout the Greater Sacramento region. This event attracts thousands of prospective buyers. Installation Gala An annual formal dinner held in January for the installation of our association President and Board of Directors. Sales and Marketing Council Events These events recognize top new home sales agents and feature topical speakers of interest to its members, social events to promote networking, and professional education/training. Sponsorships BIA events and meetings provide valued exposure and recognition. Sponsors are needed for almost every event. In return for support, sponsors receive recognition, exposure and other benefits. Pacific Coast Builders Conference (PCBC) Western Building Show California Building Industry Association presents the largest industry trade show and conference on the west coast. The three-day event is held each June in San Francisco. Contact: info@pcbc.com National Association of Home Builders Annual Convention and Exposition More than 170 seminars and workshops are presented at the largest housing and building trade show in the country. The latest technologies, products and services are on display. Other BIA events Political Action Fundraisers, Sales and Marketing Awards Banquet, Crab Feed, Golf Tournaments and Installation of Officers Banquet.
